Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 14th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Departments Narcotics Unit along with the Patrol Division stopped a car in the parking lot of the Best Western hotel in Ville Platte. The Agents approached the car and noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from the car. They conducted a interview with the driver and consent to search was granted. Upon completion of the search Agents located a large amount of Crystal Methamphetamine. This led to the following action.

Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine over 28 grams

Possession of Crack CocainePossession with intent to distribute Promethazine over 20 ounces

 On the 17th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department's Criminal Patrol Unit, made contact with a person in the parking at the Best Inn motel. While speaking to the suspect they noticed he was extremely nervous. Agents conducted an interview with the suspect who then admitted to having narcotics on him. This led to the following arrest.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

Later in the evening Narcotic Agents noticed a car sitting in the parking lot of the Best Inn Motel, with a male subject sitting in the car. Agents approached the car and made contact with the driver, when he exited the car agents could see a large bulge in his pocket. Agents patted him down for officer safety and noticed he had a pair of brass knuckles in his pocket. When Agents checked his pockets further, they also located narcotics. This led to a search warrant of the room he was seen walking in and out of. This led to the following arrests.

He was charged with

Possession with intent to Distribute Methamphetamine over 3 grams

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He also had 2 outstanding warrants for failure to appear for court.

 On the 19th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Departments K-9 unit stopped a car in the Basile area for a traffic violation. K-9 Diego conducted a free air sniff around the car and indicated to possible narcotics inside of it. The K-9 officer then performed of a search of the car, and located a large amount of narcotics. This led to this arrest.
