Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

On the 30th of December 2020 The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department Criminal Patrol Unit, started executing arrest warrant following a two month long undercover drug buy operation, that was conducted in the parish. During the execution of the arrest warrants other persons found to be in possession of narcotics were also arrested This led to the following actions being taken.

She is charged with

LA:RS: 40:967. A.1 Distribution of Methamphetamine

And two warrants for failure to appear for court

He was charged with

LA:RS: 40:967 Possession of methamphetamine

LA:RS: 40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

Timothy James Vidrine

He was charged with

LA:RS: 40:967. C.1 Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine

LA:RS: 14:108 Resisting an officer with force 3 counts

LA:RS: 40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia

LA:RS: 40:967 Possession of synthetic marijuana

He was charged with

LA:RS: 40:966 Possession of marijuana

And he had 4 outstanding warrants on other charges

   

On the 31st of December 2020 The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department Criminal Patrol unit, was working in the Mamou area. Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. When deputies approached the car, they could see narcotics in plain view. While one of the deputies opened the passenger side door to retrieve it, the other deputy opened the driver's door and ordered the driver out of the car. The driver then put the car in gear and took off, dragging both deputies twenty feet before stopping the car. The driver was taken into custody and charges as follows.

He was charged as follows

LA:RS: 32:79 Driving left of center

LA:RS: 40:967.C Possession of cocaine

LA:RS: 14:34 Aggravated battery on a police officer 2counts

LA:RS: 14:108.2 Resisting an officer 2 counts

   
 

On the 31st December The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department Criminal Patrol Unit was working in Mamou, Deputies stopped a car for a traffic violation. When deputies approached the car, the passenger was trying to shove a backpack under the seat, there was also a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. The occupants were detained and an investigation was conducted. During the search of the car deputies recovered narcotics, U S currency from illegal drug sales, and a loaded pistol. The passenger of the vehicle claimed the narcotics and U S currency in the car. Deputies were then granted permission to search the residence where he was staying and recovered even more narcotic. Which led to the follow action.

Deputies recovered 20 grams of marijuana

Over 1,000 Xanax pills

1 Pistol

$1,963.00 in cash

 LA:RS: 40:966 For simple possession of marijuana

And the traffic violation

Also, on the 31st of December 2020 Deputies with the Evangeline sheriff Criminal Patrol Unit, executed a search warrant at 129 Lester street in Ville Platte. This resulted from numerous crime tip submissions and surveillance of the residence. Deputies found 2 pounds of marijuana, Liquid THC, and U S currency from illegal narcotic sales. This led to following actions.

He was charged with

LA:RS: 40:966. A.1 Possession with intent to distribute cannabis oil

LA:RS: 40:966. B. B Possession with intent to distribute marijuana 2 pounds

The last couple of days of 2020 have been busy. My criminal patrol - K-9 Unit along with the patrol deputies, have made 108 drug related cases since July 1-2020.
