CRIMINAL PATROL WORKING TO MAKE THE PARISH SAFE!!

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:


On the 5th of December 2020 The Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Unit was working in the Basile area. K-9 deputy stopped a 2012 Nissan Sentra for an expired license plate. The deputy made contact with the driver and sole occupant, Christie Joy Chapman. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and advised of the reason for the stop. When the deputy asked about the smell of marijuana Mrs. Chapman eventually admitted to having some concealed on her body. She then handed the marijuana to the deputy and was issued the following citations and released. The vehicle she was driving was towed do to not having insurance.
