Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

On Thursday, August 13, 2020 a strange incident occurred where a vehicle was stolen and then set on fire.  

At 7:10 a.m. Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Dispatchers received a call of a burnt vehicle located on Natchitoches Road in Ville Platte.

After further investigation, it was learned that a vehicle had been reported stolen at approximately 2:19 a.m. that morning by the owner.

The owner reported her 2014 Buick Regal with an unknown value as stolen.

The located burnt vehicle was later identified as the 2014 Buick Regal.

Anyone with information that can help find the person(s) involved is asked to call Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Investigators at 337-363-2161. All callers will remain anonymous.
