Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has released information of an escaped inmate. At approximately 5 o'clock p.m., Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Jailers conducted a head count, noticing one of the prisoners was unaccounted for.

Jailers immediately confirmed Jeffery Rubin (DOB 9-2-86) as an escapee. Rubin was last known to be wearing an orange jumpsuit, black doo rag, with a pair of blue and black Air Jordans. Rubin left the property in an unknown direction before discarding his orange jumpsuit.

Rubin was originally being held for Armed Robbery and Criminal Damage to Property. Numerous Deputies were called out to assist in locating Rubin. Within a couple of hours after his escape, Rubin was returned to the jail without incident.

Rubin is being charged with L.A.R.S. 14:110 Simple escape.
