MEDIA RELEASE ~ LEAH SHARP ~

02/01/2023

On December 26, 2022, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to a theft.  During the investigations, it was learned that the victim allowed his girlfriend to use his debit card.  Prior to giving his girlfriend permission to use the card, it is believed that the suspect Leah Sharp W/F DOB 02/12/1967 of Glenmora Louisiana overheard the victim and his girlfriend speaking on the phone.  During the conversations between the victim and his girlfriend, the victim provided his girlfriend with his debit card number and thinks that the suspect wrote down the victim's account information which resulted in the suspect obtaining approximately $777.98 from the victim's checking account without his permission.   An arrest warrant was later obtained for the suspect for one count of Monetary Instrument Abuse and one count of Theft.  She was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on January 19, 2023 and her bond was set at $15,000.00.
