Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 12th of January 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Mamou. Upon coming into contact with the driver an interview was conducted and K-9 Diego was deployed. Diego gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics and a search was conducted.

On the 18th of January 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit along with the Allen Parish Narcotics Unit and Swat Team conducted a search warrant in the Lake Cove area of the parish. This was a results of an ongoing drug operation.

On the 19th of January 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop in Ville Platte. Agents made contact with the driver and conducted a interview. K-9 Diego was deployed and indicated to presence of narcotics. Agents conducted a search and located illegal narcotics and a firearm.
