Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following: 

On May 19th 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments K-9 Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a truck Lanse Bleu Road. The driver was advised of the reason for the stop. When the K-9 Agent went to pat him down, due to his behavior he attempted to flee and was immediately taken into custody. The suspect was in possession of narcotics on his person, vehicle and also attempted to throw narcotics away.

Resisting an officer.

On the 31st of May 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Zenon Road. Agents made contact with the driver and advised of the reason for the stop. Agents could then see illegal narcotics in plain view. Agents conducted a search of the vehicle and located more illegal narcotics.

On June 6th 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Patrol Unit, conducted a traffic stop on Meridian Road. The driver of the vehicle was advised of the reason for the stop. The driver had outstanding warrants and was arrested. Upon the deputy completing a search of the drivers belonging, the deputy found illegal narcotics.

Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine

On the 26th of May 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Criminal Patrol Unit, stopped a vehicle on Gradney Lane for a traffic violation.  Upon Agents coming into contact with the occupants. They observed several indications of possible narcotics use. The Agents then conducted a short roadside interview. This led to permission to search the vehicle. Once Agents completed there search illegal narcotics were recovered and the following charged.

On the 1st of June 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, conducted a search warrant in the city limits of Ville Platte. Agents entered the residence and took one suspect into custody without any incident. The search warrant stemmed from many complaints over the past several months.
