On April 21, 2022, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Crooked Creek Park in reference to a stolen golf cart.  The golf cart was taken from the victim's camp site during the late night hours by an unknown suspect.  During the investigation, Deputies received a call from a witness advising that he located an abandoned golf cart in the wood next to his residence at the 1000 Blk. of Pioneer Rd.  Once confirming that the golf cart was in fact the golf cart stolen from Crooked Creek it was released to the victim.  The investigation is still ongoing and if anyone has any information that can lead Deputies to the identification of a suspect is asked to call the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-363-2161.
