Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 23rd of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department'S Narcotic Unit, conducted a search warrant on a residence in the Mocsim subdivision in the Mamou area. Agents entered the residence and detained several suspects without incident. A search of the residence led to over a pound of Marijuana being recovered, and several firearms. Once the investigation was completed the following arrest was made.

W/M Age 57

 

He was charged with Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana over 1 pound Possession of a firearm in presence of CDS

 

 

A traffic stop was conducted on Tate Cove Road on the 23rd of March 2022 by Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department'S Narcotic Unit. Agents conducted an interview with the driver, and K-9 Diego was deployed to perform a free air sniff. Diego gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics, and search was conducted. This led to the following arrest.

W/M Age 50

 

He was charged with Possession of Heroin Possession of Methamphetamine

On the 25th of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department conducted a Safety check point for impaired drivers. Deputies sent a vehicle to a secondary check point. Deputies then conducted a short interview and called on K-9 Diego to assist. Diego gave a positive alert, and a search of the truck was conducted.

She was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine And a traffic violation

Phillip Shawn Oge

He was charged with a Probation Violation

Also, while conducting the Safety check point, A truck entered the area when deputies made contact with the driver, there was an overwhelming smell of Marijuana, the truck was sent to a secondary area, and a search was conducted. The driver was charged as follows.

Ville Platte, LA. 70586

W/M Age 23

He was charged with Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana over 30 grams

 

Later in the night of March 26th 2022, while at the safety check point, another vehicle was sent to a secondary location. K-9 Diego was called again and gave a positive alert of narcotics. Deputies then conducted a search and located narcotics.

W/M Age 23

 

	He was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine Possession of CDS in presence of a minor And he had an active warrant for not appearing in court.
