Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

  On the 27th of September 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Departments Narcotics Unit stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. W hen the agent came into contact with the driver, he noticed she was trying to conceal something. Th e agent then conducted a search of the vehicle and located narcotics.

She was cited for the traffic violation.

 

On the 15th of September 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Departments Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Parkview Street. While conducting the traffic stop Agents located illegal narcotics. The following person was charged.

 On the 18th of September 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Departments Narcotic Unit stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon coming into contact with the driver and sole occupant, agents smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Agents conducted a probable cause search   

And found illegal narcotics and a gun in the vehicle.

Possession of a firearm in presence of CDS

Possession of drug paraphernalia

 On the 24th of September 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Departments Narcotics Unit was conducting an investigation of illegal narcotic possession on a school campus. When the suspect vehicle arrived to drop off their child, agents noticed an extremely strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the child. Agents made contact with the driver and explained the reason they were there. The mother admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. Agents then conducted a search and located the narcotics.

Possession of CDS in a drug free zone

She was cited for possession of Marijuana.
