Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 Joint Operation Leads to Large Narcotic and Firearm and stolen car Seizure

 On the 7th of July 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Departments Narcotic Division, along with Allen Parish Sheriff's Departments Narcotics and Swat team, conducted a search warrant located at 1280 Royal Road in the Turkey Creek Lake Cove area. Deputies entered the residence around 1:30 am and detained several people in the yard and inside the residence. The deputies then began their search and located narcotics inside of the residence along with a large number of firearms. The deputies then searched the vehicles in the yard. The deputies opened the trunk of one car and found over twenty firearms in it. The next vehicle they searched they found more illegal narcotics. Once the search was completed deputies had recovered a total of 44 guns, and several illegal narcotics.

 There was a 2017 Ford Taurus car on the property that was also stolen from Calcasieu parish.

 Once deputies checked the serial numbers on the guns it was determined that 19 of the 44 found were reported stolen from Calcasieu Parish. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department along with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department, have identified a person of interest in the gun thefts. We are going pursing those leads. The remaining 25 guns have not been reported stolen as of this time.

Possession of Sawed-off shotgun   

Possession of a stolen vehicle

Possession of Stolen firearms 19 counts.
