Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 

On the 7th of March, 2021- The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary at the residence of 5703 Duralde Hwy.  Once Deputies arrived on scene, the Victim gave them a list of the property that had been stolen from the residence. The Deputies were then able to speak to individuals in the area, began following leads and were able to locate some of the stolen property. The Criminal Investigations Division joined Deputies on scene and recovered more of the stolen property. This led to the following persons being arrested.

In an unrelated incident-

March 7th, 2021 at approximately 7:00pm- The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop on a white pick up truck on Stagg Avenue, by the Lake Wood Apartments, for a traffic violation. The Deputies made contact with the driver and passenger, who appeared to be extremely nervous and jittery. The Deputies requested permission to search the vehicle and it was granted by the driver. As a result of the search, the Deputies located illegal narcotics, along with drug paraphernalia, which led to the following actions and arrests.

LA:RS: 40:967. C.1-  Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

LA:RS: 40:966.C-  Possession of Marijuana

LA:RS: 40:1023-  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
