Two-Month Undercover Operation Leads to Arrest!

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following: 

On the 23rd of December 2020 The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department Criminal Patrol Unit, conducted a traffic stop on Pine Point road. Deputies stopped a green Toyota pickup for traffic violations. When deputies approached the truck, they could smell marijuana. The occupants of the truck admitted to having marijuana in it. Deputies removed the occupants and searched the truck; they recovered a small amount of marijuana. The driver was cited as follows and released.

He was cited as follows and released.

LA:RS: 40:966 Possession of marijuana

The passenger in the truck was wanted on a charge of distribution of Methamphetamine. This warrant resulted from a two-month undercover operation. Once the passenger Dylan Blaze Savoie was brought to the parish jail, Criminal patrol agents then executed a search warrant on his residence. During the execution of the search warrant agents found Marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and other narcotics. This led to the following charges.

LA:RS: 40:966.C Possession marijuana

LA:RS: 40:966.C Possession with intent to distribute marijuana

LA: RS: 40:967 Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine

LA:RS: 40:967 Possession of MDMA

LA:RS 40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia

LA:RS: 40:967 Distribution of Methamphetamine

LA:RS: 14:91.13 Possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile  

He remains in custody.
