Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 17th of December 2020 The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop, for a traffic violation. The Deputy made contact with the occupants and advised of the reason for the stop. The Deputies could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. Deputies then removed the driver and passenger and advised they would be searching the vehicle. While searching the vehicle deputies found narcotics in the passenger's purse. This led to the following actions.

She was charged as follows

LA:RS: 40:966.C Possession of marijuana

LA:RS: 40:970 Possession of schedule 4 PROMETHAZINE

LA:RS: 14:91.13 Possession of CDS in presence of minors

She remains in custody
