Sheriff Eddie Soileau, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office has released the following:

VILLE PLATTE, LA – On today, June 14, 2019 Shanon Chapman of 4645 Pine Point Rd in Ville Platte was arrested and charged with felony theft.

On June 4, 2019 Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division received a complaint from the Public Works Director in reference to a theft of parish gravel rocks on Yeves Rd and Dozer Ln. The Detectives immediately began an investigation on this incident and proved beyond reasonable doubt Chapman had committed the crime for felony theft and used the gravel to repair his own private driveway.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail on the following charge: Felony Theft. Chapman’s bond was set at $25,000.00 by 13th Judicial Judge Chuck West.
