Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 5th of December 2020 Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Deputies made a traffic stop on a 1993 Honda Accord on old Basile highway at Heinen road. Deputies made contact with the driver and sole occupant, Chance Evans Bushnell. Deputies advised him of the reason for the stop and asked him to exit his vehicle. Mr. Bushnell was very agitated and displaying numerous signs of narcotic use. Deputies requested permission to search the car and he stated yes. Deputies also searched Mr. Bushnell and found methamphetamine on his person. This led to the following charges.

W/M AGE 32

LA:RS: 40:967 Possession of methamphetamine

LA:RS: 32:898 No Insurance

LA:RS: 32:322 Failure to dim headlights  

He remains incarcerated
